Veterinarians

Dr. Erica Harlec

Dr. Andrew Acevedo
Dr. Andrew Acevedo graduated from Cornell University in 2021. He completed a mixed animal internship in Alliance Nebraska, as well as an exotics-focused internship in Bothell, Washington, before settling into his home state of New York.

Dr. Carolyn Steinbeiser
Dr. Carolyn Steinbeiser, originally from New Hampshire, did her undergrad and tech school at Becker College (Worcester, MA) and worked as a Veterinary Technician in MA then vet school at St. George’s University in Grenada and Clinical year at University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. Special veterinary interests include: Wildlife and exotic companion animal medicine, surgery and clinical nutrition. Outside of work she enjoys: Traveling, SCUBA diving, cooking and hiking with my dogs. Animals include two Grenadian pothounds, Matilda and Puffin, a cat named Mush and a Turtle named Brick.

Dr. Kyra Moosmueller
Dr. Kyra Moosmueller is originally from Long Island, NY where she previously worked as a Vet Assistant in a cat-only practice. She completed her B.S. in Animal Science at SUNY Cobleskill and graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine with clinical rotations at the University of Tennessee – Knoxville.
Dr. Moosmueller’s special interests include exotic/wildlife medicine, soft-tissue surgery, and acupuncture. Outside of work she enjoys gardening, cooking, baking, crocheting and hiking. She shares her home with her two cats, Monkey and Dillon.

Dr. Alberta Crum
A native New Yorker, Dr. Crum earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with honors from Barnard College before obtaining her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University. She went on to complete a small animal medicine and surgery internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. Over the course of her career, she has gained experience in general, specialty, shelter, and emergency practice, with a special interest in senior pet care. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Crum enjoys painting, dabbling in gardening, and exploring the science of functional foods.

Donna

Stephanie
Stephanie has been working in the veterinary field for over 10 years and can wear many hats. You might find her assisting in rooms during appointments, working the front desk, and assisting technicians in treatment.
She originally worked with horses before transitioning to small animal and exotic practices. She is enrolled in Penn Fosters practice management program and is looking forward to furthering her career in veterinary medicine. She has two rescue dogs, and outside of work she enjoys fishing, hiking, and spending time with her nieces.

Kayla
Kayla, our Hospital Coordinator, is currently wrapping up her Bachelor’s degree in science, currently enrolled in a veterinary management program, and even plans to pursue a veterinary technician certification. She found her love for the veterinary field when she joined the NVH team in 2021 as a Receptionist and Doctor’s Assistant.
During her free time, she enjoys spending her time with her husband, their dog, and four cats– three of which she brought home from NVH.
